Wash your sweater on a wool wash cycle at 30 degrees Celsius to ensure it lasts a long time. First turn the sweater inside out. Use a detergent suitable for wool, without fabric softener. Reshape the sweater while it is still wet and lay it flat to dry. Do not put it in the dryer.
